The Body Keeps the Score
In his book “The Body Keeps the Score”, Bessel van der Kolk, MD discusses how the human body can get stuck in fight/flight, and freeze. This can happen because of any number of events. And for real change to take place so that we can move FORWARD, the body needs to learn that the danger has passed and to live in the reality of the present.
I have training as a Trauma-Informed Coach and am also a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner, and that helps me to see and safely navigate the disconnect between the brain and the body when it comes to embodied experiences that remain held.
I create an environment where clients can feel safe to inhabit their bodies and to tolerate feeling what they feel – this can lead to lasting healing and FORWARD movement.
